One of the best Deus Ex games, Deus Ex Go, is disappearing
For a while there, Square Enix Montreal (later renamed to Onoma) has created some of the best mobile puzzle games of all time. go assassin, Lara Croft go and Deus Ex go are three of the most exciting, challenging games you can play on your phone, and all have become classics of the genre. Sadly, one of them is about to disappear forever.
Onoma—ai was suddenly closed earlier this month—announced earlier today that some of their games will be “shut down” in early 2023. Among them are Hitman Sniper: The Shadowswas just released last year and Deus Ex go. The studio’s full statement reads:
Arena Battle Champions, Deus Ex GO, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows and Space Invaders: Hidden Heroes will be shutting down on January 4.
The game will be removed from the App Store/Google Play Store on December 1, and existing players will not be able to access the game after January 4.
Effective immediately, in-game purchases are stopped. We encourage in-game pre-purchases used before January 4th as they are non-refundable.
On behalf of the development team, we would like to thank you for playing our game.
Note that these don’t simply disappear from those two stores, they disappear, with games no longer accessible after January 4, even if you’ve downloaded them. From a personal perspective—as a dust collector To go games become time killers every year or two—that’s bad, but it’s also a tragedy from a game conservation standpoint.
People made this game, people bought this game and people liked it for many years, and with the closure of a studio and some rights to change hands, it will now cease to exist as a official way?
G/O Media can receive commission
The closure does not affect Lara Croft go and go assassinat least, both are available on PC (Deus Ex go was once available on the Windows Store, but was later removed from there as well).
