One of the world’s most twisted towers, the 180-meter-tall ‘Dance of Light’, unveiled in China

Based on DezeenThe unique 39-story building is meant to serve as a landmark in the business district, where each structure is inspired by the stars and other celestial phenomena.
The Aurora Borealis, commonly known as the Northern Lights, has a curved shape and the studio has chosen as its structural model. Now the structure has been nicknamed the ‘Dance of Light’.
Aedas Principal of Global Design, Ken Wai told Dezeen, “The idea of the Dance of Light was proposed by the city of Chongqing to celebrate the achievement of embracing technology. The dance of light originates from the phenomenon of fascination. or of the Northern Lights lighting up the heavens.”
Mr. Ken added: “They are natural, dynamic and elegant, all important aspects we wanted to achieve in our tower design.
The ‘Dance of Light’ tower has a “twist angle” of up to 8.8 degrees per floor, which Aedas claims is 1.5 times more than any other skyscraper, making it one of the “buildings” the world’s most twisted tower”.
