The ace player recently attended British Fashion Council Award in an Iris van Herpen outfit, and look absolutely gorgeous. But the dress of ‘Mimesis’ is no ordinary creation. On Instagram, Maria shared the details of the eco-friendly dress and we are so excited!
“One year of production, with fabric sourced from hundreds of recycled @evianwater water bottles, over 800 hours of work by @irisvanherpen & team. It’s amazing to see hard work come to life!! ” she captioned the post.
The gorgeous outfit hugged the Russian tennis star’s slim body gracefully. Iris van Herpen also used the photo-sharing app to talk about their collaboration with Maria. “Godly @MariaSharapova in a custom IVH upgrade during yesterday’s British Fashion Awards. Her custom look is eco-friendly, made with 72% substandard recycled Evian plastic bottles [traditional] recycling standards. Upcycled yarn is woven with 28% organic silk. ”
The designer added that through collaborating and developing innovative upscaling materials, “we hope to inspire positive change and redirect thinking that Couture can be a source of transformation.” innovative and innovative, raising the bar on dress and expression today.”

Sharapova’s outfit is one of them, inspired by the ocean theme. The dress is covered in reflective laser-cut petals, all made from recycled bottles, then sewn back on lightweight silk.
