The Oppo Find N foldable smartphone was launched on the second day of the annual Oppo Inno Day event in China. Oppo says the smartphone comes with the Flexion Hinge and can be folded perfectly, leaving almost no gap between the two sides of the folding screen. The phone will launch in China and will be available later this month, according to Oppo. The handset comes a day after the company launched the Oppo Air Glass and MariSilicon X imaging NPU. The Oppo Find N will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.

The smartphone features a 5.49-inch OLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio on the outside. The inward folding screen, called the Oppo Serene Display, measures 7.1 inches when unfolded. Both the Find N’s inward-facing display and the covering display are rated to deliver 10,240 auto-brightness levels using the built-in ambient sensor. The company is also said to have fine-tuned both the brightness and color calibration between the internal and external displays to deliver a consistently smooth experience.
Oppo claims that the smartphone has a 12-layer screen construction and has an ultra-thin (0.03mm) glass. Citing German testing company TÜV Rheinland, Oppo says the display can last over 200,000 folds and has been tested in temperatures of -20 degrees Celsius. In addition, the Oppo Find N is also said to offer up to 80% less wrinkles than competitors, according to TUV.
The company says this feat was achieved thanks to a natively developed Flexion hinge that has 136 individual parts. The hinge is also said to be responsible for the almost no gap between the panels of the folding display (0.01mm accuracy). The hinge also allows the Oppo Find N to be used as a laptop, in FlexForm Mode. According to the Chinese company, users can hold the phone folded, at an angle between 50 degrees and 120 degrees.

Under the hood, Oppo Find N has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 memory. The smartphone comes with a 4500mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC wired charging, which is said to be able to boost the battery by 50% in half an hour and fully charge the phone in 70 minutes. The smartphone also comes with 15W AirVOOC wireless charging and support for 10W reverse wireless charging.

For multitasking, Oppo has introduced the Two-finger Split gesture on Oppo Find N. In this feature, users have to swipe two fingers to the center of the screen and the multi-screen interface will be opened to perform multitasking. .
