Overwatch 2 will let you team up with friends regardless of rank
If you’ve ever wanted to play competitively, rank precaution 2 game with your friends but have broken the rank restrictions, Blizzard is adding a new mode that will ease some (but not all) of the rules that forbid that.
Team Queue is a new mode featured in the game’s latest update (live today, July 11th) and note explains that to enter this mode you will have to assemble a full pool of five stacks. That means you can’t just match rando but have to gather four other competitive sicks to fill all five positions. Instead of queuing for specific roles, each member will choose their role at the character screen similar to open queue matches, but it will still be limited to the standard 5v5 layout of one tanks, two damage and two support champions. This gives your team the flexibility to decide who wants to do what in each match, rather than all of you choosing before queuing for a match.
The biggest difference is that the Team Queue won’t ask you to team up with people of the same rank as you. This is one of the biggest hurdles I’ve ever played precaution 2regimes are ranked over the years. I usually just play quick battles and a few of my friends play ranked. Whenever they wanted me to join them in ranked mode, we couldn’t line up together, because I didn’t take the time to compete and establish my rank. Now, as long as you play with a full team, you can line up together no matter how low or high everyone’s rank is.
Although that restriction has been removed, you still cannot play competitive mode between PC and console players. So as a PlayStation 5 player, I still can’t play precaution 2 compete with many of my friends playing on PC. But given the advantage that mouse and keyboard gives shooters, this is probably the best.
For those who are looking for a more casual precaution 2 experience, the game’s planned first story mission is only a month away, and about to debut on August 10. If you don’t know much about the hero shooter’s story, here’s a verbose instructions about where to catch up before the story finally continues next month.
