Patrick Moxey launches label group, inks global strategic alliance with Warner for Helix and Payday Records
Patrick Moxey has formed a new musical group and has signed a “strategic global alliance” with Warner Recorded Music for two key record labels.
The deal, which includes Payday Records and the newly created Helix Records, will see Warner Recorded Music handle global digital distribution through its independent service arm ADA Worldwide and include the option to parties co-sign new performances.
This news follows the recent announcement that the group’s music publishing division Awesome music Publish agreed to an alliance with Warner Music Group‘S Music Warner Chappell.
Helix Records, the group’s new flagship electronic dance music label, which officially debuted this week at Miami Music Week, has signed a number of popular new artists.
They include electronic duo Snakeships, Anglo-Australian band AR/CO, legendary producer/dj Marshall Jefferson, and DJ Susan.
Helix and Payday Records have offices in LA, New York and London with a strong team of 36 including marketing and advertising in Canada, Sweden, Germany, France and Australia.
This includes a dedicated sync team in each of those offices.
Both Helix and Payday say they will work closely with Warner Recorded Music and ADA in the future to maximize audience reach and commercial opportunities.
The new alliance also allows Helix, Payday and the non-US Warner Music territories to license music to each other and “opens the door to creative collaboration” between Helix and the artists on the roster. Warner Music, according to Warner.

Today’s announcement follows news in January that Sony Music Group buying Full ownership of the legendary dance label Ultra Records, with Moxey exiting the label and David Waxman taking over as Chairman.
