Persona 3 and 4 finally have a release date for Switch, PC, PS5 and Xbox
Classic game by Atlus Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 gold to the “modern platform” on January 19, 2023. Atlus confirmed the news in a tweet.
Two games will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X – and will be included with Game Pass for console and PC. Persona 3 Portable will also get a Steam release (Persona 4 gold was available on Steam as of 2020).
Both games are considered final versions of the original PlayStation 2, Persona 3 and 4. They were originally released on the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita in 2009 and 2012 respectively. Despite the move from home to handheld consoles, both added new content and features. Persona 4 gold especially a breakout moment for the Persona series outside of Japan.
However, both have remained disappointingly hard to play since the fall of their host handhelds, with the exception of Persona 4 goldSteam release. Given the game’s mobile legacy, fans have been clamoring for the Switch versions in particular (although Persona 4 gold received a very enthusiastic welcome Steam Deck Update).
The January release is part of Atlus’ big push to bring Persona to all platforms. It is available before release Persona 5 Royal on Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Game Pass on October 21.
