If you’re not careful, you might miss it real ending of the personality 4: Gold. Completing dungeons ahead of time and responding to obvious social media prompts is easy, but the final part of the game can be complicated and easy to miss.
The game will often prompt you before big, game-changing decisions happen, so make sure save your game when it happens. We recommend saving to a separate save locationjust in case you want to go back to see different endings or if you need to go back after making a mistake.
Before the climax of the story, make sure maximize Marie’s social links by December 31. We put this before all else because this is something you can do during gameplay.
[Ed. note: Minor spoilers for Persona 4 Golden are below. We understand that you are probably looking this guide up probably before you’re getting to these story points, so we’ve tried our best things organized in a way to avoid spoilers. Only look at the dates below if you’re ready to be spoiled for the events on that day.]
On December 3…
On December 3, you will need to choose the appropriate dialogue while the group was talking about what to do with Namatame. You will need to select these options in order:
- “Wait a minute here…”
- “We’re missing something.”
- “Namatame’s true feelings.”
- “Something is bothering me.”
- “We are missing something…”
- “Calm down the hell!”
After doing this, the group will sober up a bit and the story will continue.
If you give up your desire for revenge, you’ll get a bad ending to the game, so make sure to choose your dialogue options carefully. We’re not sure if there’s more than one set of “right” answers to get the ending true, but these are options that we can confirm work.
On December 5th…
The group will gather to eat and drink, but will discuss the real culprit behind all the bad things that happen in Inaba. When prompted, you’ll need to choose the real killer: Tohru Adachi. The menu will list your friends and other social links, so select “someone else” until that person’s name appears in the list.
A new dungeon will open, requiring you to clear it.
On February 13th…
The group begins their skiing trip on February 11th. On February 13th, you will arrive at a new dungeon called hollow forest. Be sure to complete the dungeon.
On March 20th…
On March 20th, after visiting all your max social links, don’t go back home. After meeting a bunch of friends to say goodbye, the game will ask if you want to return home to prepare to return home. Select “are not” and instead go to food court june.
After the cutscene plays, go to Samegawa flood plain to talk to Dojima and Nanako. After chatting, go to Central shopping district and in velvet room to get an important item from Igor.
After doing all this, finally go to the gas station which you first stop at at the start of the game and talk to the waiter there to trigger the real end of the game.
