Our pets, like us, are susceptible to cold weather and keep our furry friends warm. Strong is very important, especially now that the weather is colder, the wind is picking up and snow can fall on their winter walk.
Your pet care routine should adapt to the seasons, and winter is no exception. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Brindha Prabhu, Co-Founder of TABPS Pets, suggested the following tips to keep your pet healthy this winter –
1. Serve hot food: Don’t you reheat food several times during winter? Well, dogs are no different. Dogs digest food similarly to humans, so we should infer that warm meals benefit them similarly to how they benefit us.
2. Food supplement or nutritional topper: Just as humans need some extra supplements, as we don’t always have control over our diets, the eating habits of many pets change as the weather changes. To make sure they get the right amount of nutrition, you can add supplements to their diet or supplement their meals with a nutritional topper.
3. Signs of nutritional deficiency: You know how your knees hurt and your back hurts? How do you have spots on your body due to deficiency? Likewise, pets, like humans, can show signs of malnutrition such as dull, brittle coats and dry, flaky skin. Check for these symptoms and make necessary dietary modifications.
5. Get water: Since most pets don’t drink much water in the winter, make sure to include water in their meals so they stay hydrated and always have access to clean water.
