[PIAS] launches new frontline division, [PIAS] Électronique, names Tom Keil as Global Head of Dance And Electronic and Executive VP of A&R

[[[[PIAS]has appointed Tom Keil as Global Director of Dance and Electronics & Executive Vice President of A&R.

Keil, whose appointment is effective immediately, will be based in London and will report directly to Russell Crank, Head of A&R (UK).

In addition, the company has established a new front-line department [PIAS] Électronique, it says, “will become the home of a group of ambitious global artists”.

Released both singles and albums, [PIAS] says the imprint will focus on electronic music, from commercial dance tracks to “underground crossover sounds”.

Tom Keil is a German music executive, participating in [PIAS] from the role of General Manager and VP of A&R to super music in Europe.

There he discovered Felix Jaehn, who remixed Omi’s song. Cheerleader became the most successful release in the label’s history, going on to become a number 1 single globally including in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Keil began his career in the 1990s as a leading producer, arranger, and writer.

In the early 2000s, he worked as A&R Director & Consultant for Superstar Recordings and Popular music Germany and in 2010 became the new Head of Zeitgeist at Universal Music Germany, working with artists including Avicii, Duck Sauce, Otto Knows, Tacabro, Fedde Le Grand and many more.

Popular music group bought a minority stake in the independent music company[…][[PIAS]for an undisclosed amount.

The deal sees UMG acquire a 49% stake in [PIAS] Group, following the formation of a global strategic alliance between the two companies in June 2021.
