Pistons set NBA single-season record with 27th straight loss
The Detroit Pistons lost their 27th game in a row and set a new NBA record for consecutive losses in a single season with a 118-112 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.
Next up is the overall record of 28 straight losses, set by the 76ers from late in the 2014-15 season through early 2015-16.
The Pistons got off to a 2-1 start in their first season under head coach Monty Williams, but haven’t won since beating Chicago in their home opener on Oct. 28.
When the losing streak ends is anyone’s guess.
The Pistons’ next game is at the Boston Celtics, who at 23-6 have the best record in the league. They host the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 30, and then begin a four-game road trip on New Year’s Day that ends with consecutive games against Golden State and Denver, the last two NBA champions.
