Several sections of highways in the country are marked for emergency landings for the Air Force, and reports say that concept dates back to World War II in Germany.
In September, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari inaugurated an emergency landing site at Satta-Gandhav extending on Highway 925 in Rajasthan’s Barmer.
“The 6-lane wide expressway (Purvanchal) could be expanded to eight lanes in the future. Built at an estimated cost of Rs 22,500 crore, the Purvanchal Expressway will boost the economic development of the country.” eastern regions of Uttar Pradesh, especially the districts of Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur,” read a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
Today, Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party attacked the BJP government, claiming that the foundation stone of the project was laid in December 2016 when he was Minister.
The Samajwadi Party said the BJP was merely inaugurating a project they conceptualized. “They are inaugurating a highway built by the SP government. They have renamed the highway from Samajwadi Purvanchal highway to ‘Purvanchal expressway’ and the quality standards of the highway have been violated. “, said Mr Yadav at a press conference today in Lucknow
“Anyone who’s been on the Agra-Lucknow motorway knows that your tea won’t spill at (speed) 100 kilometers per hour. But those who’ve been on the Purvanchal highway will know that it makes a mess. your stomach hurts. BJP’s motto is – ‘Ram Ram Japna’. So far, all the projects being inaugurated are those built by the SP government,” he added.
UP government sources have denied the claims, saying the foundation stone for the project was laid in July 2018 by Prime Minister Modi in Azamgarh, eastern UP, and construction work has been going on in Prime Ministership of Yogi Adityanath and in favorable times despite barriers because of the pandemic.
“The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for this highway in July 2018 and we are in the position today that the Prime Minister will inaugurate it. This is a prime example of how. the operation of a ‘dual-engined’ government,” said Yogi Adityanath. a “dual-engine government” dig of opponents has been used in the past.
