Presque Isle Downs in honor of veteran campaigner Stevis Man
Presque Isle Downs will celebrate the career of one of the fan favorites, The man Stevis (Senor Amigo), with the race on July 26. The veteran campaigner has scored 20 of his 26 career victories at the Pennsylvania oval.
Stevis Man retired from RACE Fund, Inc., a nonprofit organization following his last race on October 24, 2022. After a period of frustration, he was sent to Upcoming Resources. purebred in Upper Marlboro, Marylad to finally begin retraining for a second career. Both the RACE Foundation and Purebred Sorting Resources are TAA accredited.
RACE Foundation President Marlene Murray said: “We just spent time with Stevis Man, aka Stevie, and let him show us the path to the discipline he wanted to do and where he is now. seems to like to wear clothes.
Murray added, “Kim Clark at Thoroughbred Placement Resources is an outstanding equestrian and equestrian and we are very fortunate to work with her. She and Stevis Man are like a moving poem in the ring. He is a kind, kind, intelligent, inquisitive, and distinctive sounding horse 74 years into his life. He is the whole package and deserves nothing but the best.
Stevis Man, 13, began his career at the Mountaineer in 2013, starting at 10 different tracks and has been claimed three times, most recently by coach Shelly Radosevich and the JSR Stables in 2020 He’s been on the board in 42 of 74 starts with 26 wins and $437,208.
“We want to thank Presque Isle Downs, and especially race secretary Alan Pever, for honoring Stevis Man in this way and all the fans who have followed him throughout his long and wonderful career. his great,” Murray said.
Presque Isle Downs will show video on Stevis Man’s racetrack television screen since his retirement and chestnut gelding could compete in the Retired Racehorse Project Renovation in Lexington in October.
