Prey is a new carnivore movie set 300 years in the past, which will air on Hulu next year.
There are franchises that never seem to get a break – Halloween, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and despite what Vin Diesel says, probably Fast & Furious, to name a few – and it seems Predator is the one. one of all.
That’s because a new Predator movie is coming out next year, as reported by IndieWire on Twitter. Title Prey, it is directed by 10 Cloverfield Lane director, Dan Trachtenberg, and it will stream on Hulu sometime in 2022. It’s unclear based on IndieWire’s words if the movie is streamed exclusively on Hulu, or if it will only stream on the service and hit theaters next year.
The new one #Predator director Dan Trachtenberg’s film “10 Cloverfield Lane” has an official title #Prey and will air on Hulu in 2022. Prey set to give the Predator line a unique look. Instead of bringing the Predator down to modern times, the 1980s, or even some time in the future, Trachtenberg’s take on the alien foe will take place 300 years in the past. More specifically, it will revolve around a “skilled Comanche Nation warrior who defends her tribe against a highly evolved alien predator,” according to IndieWire.
Curiously, there’s another “Prey” out there that revolves around an Indigenous character whose mission is to fight off alien enemies. It’s a 2006 video game developed by Human Head Studios. Maybe we can all pretend this Predator movie is a sequel to the Predator we never got (although Arkane’s 2017 Prey is a great game – it’s not the sequel to 2006’s Prey that many wanted).
While waiting Prey to come to Hulu next year, check out Predator: Hunting Grounds, it’s a free PlayStation Plus game in october.
