Common BMW X5 the scope of entering the new year has remained largely unchanged, although it is currently missing a family member.

A range of six- and eight-cylinder variants are on sale for 2023, with last year’s xDrive25d entry point reduced. This also means an additional $20,000 in entry price – now starting with xDrive30d from $126,900 plus on-road costs.

A total of four powertrains are offered on the BMW X5 for 2023.

The xDrive30d run a 3.0-liter inline six turbo diesel engine create 195kW (4000 rpm) and 620Nm (2000-2500rpm). BMW claims 0-100’s time 6.5 seconds.

M50i the model got the score 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine output 390kW (6000 rpm) and 750Nm (1800-4600rpm). The M Performance variant triples in just 4.3 seconds.

Finally, the flagship X5 M Competition is even more powerful 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 do 460kW (6000 rpm) and 750Nm (1800-5800rpm). This cuts the requirement from 0-100 to 3.8 seconds.

All BMW X5 variants come standard with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, as well as xDrive all-wheel drive.

Standard service Includes base cost $2750 for the X5 core range.

Safety

X5 wear one Five-star safety rating ANCAP with a 2018 date stamp, based on tests conducted by Euro NCAP.

However, this rating only covers 3.0-litre petrol and diesel models, with the plug-in hybrid and V8 variants remaining ‘unrated’.

The X5 scored 89% for adult passenger protection, 87% for child passenger protection, 75% for vulnerable pedestrian protection, and 71% for safety assistance.
