Price and specifications Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2022
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan is significantly more expensive than its predecessor but it has more equipment.
The base car is up a significant $12,000 over the old one, but Mercedes counters by claiming it has about $10,000 more equipment and is bigger.
Two C-Class Initial variants will be available and both will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
Prices start from $78,900 before on-road costs for input level C200 and expand to $90,400 before road costs for C300. The latter is $15,100 more expensive than the upcoming C300.
The new price is not negotiable, according to Mercedes-Benz switched to the distribution agent model on January 1st.
All models destined for the Australian market will be equipped with the AMG Line interior and exterior package.
Mercedes-Benz says more variants are expected including high-performance models.
We expect to see the all-new C43 appear overseas soon, while the new C63’s halo – set to be a turbocharged four-cylinder plug-in hybrid – is expected to launch around six months later.
There’s also the C350e plug-in hybrid (PHEV), available in other markets, which won’t be available at launch. Local time has yet to be announced.
In August 2021, Mercedes-Benz reveals wagon and higher-riding All-Terrain variants of new generation C-Class won’t come to Australia.
This new generation C-Class is was first revealed in February 2021but Mercedes-Benz announced in December 2021 delay the local launch.
The delay is to ensure a sufficient supply of new vehicles, though buyers may still find themselves on a waiting list for the new sedan.
It is heavily inspired by the current generation S-Class flagship sedan inside and out, following the long tradition of C-Class models to look like child S-Class sedans.

Engine
Power supply for input level 2022 Mercedes-Benz C200 Is one 1.5 liter ‘M254’ turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine manufacture 150kW power and 300Nm of torque. This engine is supported by a 48V mild hybrid system.
On the other hand, the C300 is powered by a ‘M254’ 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine manufacture 190kW and 400Nm. This engine also has a 48V mild hybrid system.
Both powertrains send power to the rear wheels only through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Acceleration from 0-100km / h of each version is 7.3 seconds and 6.0 seconds, respectively.
The 48V mild-hybrid system in both versions of the M254 powertrain powers an integrated starter alternator that makes stall stops less noticeable.
The mild-hybrid system also allows for a short-term increase in auxiliary power. The 2.0 liter engine in the C300 is capable of generating an extra 20kW with this “overboost” feature.
Energy saving
The published combined cycle fuel economy figures for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class are as follows:
- C200: 6.9L / 100km
- C300: 7.3L / 100km
Both of these models require 98 RON premium unleaded petrol and have a 66L fuel tank.
Size
Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2022 measured at 4793mm Long, 1820mm wide and 1437mm tall, with a 2865mm The standard long.
Boot space is 455L with upright rear seats.
Service and Warranty
All Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2022 models are covered by five-year, unlimited km warranty.
Mercedes-Benz offers three-, four- and five-year service packages for the C-Class and a maintenance interval of 12 months or 25,000 km, whichever comes first.
Prices for service packages are as follows:

- Four services: $3600
- Year of service: $5200

The new generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2022 has not yet been tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP.
