Price and specifications of Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2024

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 The range has received some minor specification tweaks for model year 2024 (MY24) and a price increase to match.

Prices increase from $2500 to $5000, depending on the variant. The Silverado 1500 range now starts at $130,500 before on-roads for the LTZ Premium and rises to $138,000 before on-roads for the ZR2.

Specification changes, as previously detailed, include new dual active sports exhausts across the range. It is activated when Sport or Off-Road mode is activated.

Other changes include more standard equipment for the off-road-oriented ZR2 to bring it on par with the luxurious LTZ Premium. It now receives the following as standard:

• Reverse camera mirror
• 15-inch head-up display
• The steering column is electrically adjustable and tilts
• Adaptive cruise control
• Bose 7-speaker premium sound system

Finally, several new exterior paint color options have been added for MY24. Lakeshore Blue metallic is available now, along with Slate Gray for the ZR2 variant only.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for the Australian market continues to be imported by General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) and converted from left-hand drive to right-hand drive by Walkinshaw in Melbourne.

As of the end of March this year, GMSV had sold a total of 548 Silverado 1500s. It was outsold by Ram 1500 (sales 886) and Ford F-150 (sales 616).

Prices before on-road costs

Transmission system

In 2024, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 series continues to be powered exclusively by the 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine manufacture 313kW power and 624Nm of torque.

Both variants have a 10-speed automatic transmission driving through a full-time four-wheel drive system that has 2H, 4A, 4H and 4L modes. The 4A allows owners to drive with four-wheel drive traction on sealed surfaces.

The LTZ Premium has an automatically locking rear differential, while the ZR2 has fully locking front and rear differentials. The latter also selects an enhanced two-speed transfer case with ZR2 Off-Road mode, Crawl Mode, as well as enhanced traction software.

Effective

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium has a combined fuel economy rating of 12.9 liters each 100 kmwhile the ZR2 has a claimed combined fuel economy rating of 14.5 liters/100km.

Both variants have an idle engine stop-start system, a 91-litre fuel tank and require a minimum of 91 RON regular unleaded petrol.

Size

Silverado 1500 LTZ Gauge 5931mm long, 1930mm high and 2086mm wide, with a 3745mm The standard long.

On the other hand, the Silverado 1500 ZR2 measures up 5931mm long, 1991mm high and 2074mm wide, with a 3748mm The standard long.

Both Silverado 1500s have a “short bed” that is 1776mm long, 1813mm wide (1286mm between the wheel arches) and 569mm deep. It has a cargo capacity of 1781 liters.

Service and warranty

The Chevrolet Silverado is covered by one Three-year, 100,000 km warranty.

Logbook maintenance is required every 12 months or 12,000km, whichever comes first. GM Specialty Vehicles does not offer price capping services.

The Chevrolet Silverado has not been crash tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP.
