There’s nothing more embarrassing in the English countryside than being the owner of an untrained hound that interrupts a day’s hunting or shooting.
So one imagines Princess Anne will be appropriately mortified after one of her English terriers allegedly attacked her handler’s dog during a Royal pheasant shooting.
According to a report in SunThe royal dog fight happened in Boxing Day shot on Christmas Day at Sandringhamwhen by Anne the dog had “put his teeth” in the ear of a handler’s dog, resulting in “bleeding and screaming”.
The sun the source said: “Gift Day shooting was an important family event so Anne brought her dog. It ran across the field, lunged at the warden’s dog, and bit its ear.”
Anne famously shunned her mother’s favorite breed, the corgis, in favor of the bull terrier, which was bred to lure bulls and has a very strong bite force. The princess, at the time of her first purchase, stated: “This will help the corgis in the palace earn money.”
The latest episode seems to have been lengthy and traumatic. The source told Sun: “It took a while to remove the dog’s ear because it had a cavity in it. Everyone was fine in the end but the atmosphere became extremely tense after a while.”

Anne has form when it comes to her dogs running around: she was the first royal to be convicted in court (under the Dangerous Dogs Act) when she admitted in 2001 that the Her Dotty terrier bit two kids off a leash in Windsor Great Park.
The 12-year-old was bitten in the collarbone and twice in the leg, while the 7-year-old brother had scratches on his arm and bite on his leg. Both went to the hospital but did not need stitches.
She was fined £500 and a judge warned the dog would be euthanized if it did it again.
A year later, another of Anne’s hounds, named Florence, attack one of the queens Corgi at Christmas. Corgi had to be put down.
Norfolk Police and the RSPCA received no reports or complaints about the latest alleged dog incident, the agency said. Sun report.
