Diana Princess, Duchess of Wales, has an exquisite jewelry collection, including some memorable pieces she has worn throughout her life. Now, keeping her indomitable legacy alive are her daughters-in-law – Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle – who are often seen decorating some timeless jewelry.
This also applies to Princess‘last wishes,’ who wrote a ‘wish letter’ that read, ‘I would like you to allocate all my jewelry to divide among my sons, so that their wives, due, may have or use it. I leave the exact division of the jewelry at your discretion.”

As the world grieve over the untimely death of Diana Princess Today, on the 25th anniversary of her death, let’s look back at the times Kate and Meghan paid homage to their mother-in-law, despite never having met her in person.
In BAFTAs 2019The Duchess of Cambridge wore Diana’s famous ‘South Sea Pearl Earrings’, which were said to have been Diana’s favorites throughout the ’90s. Kate recently wore them again at Royal Ascot 2022.
One of the most famous and sentimental works Kate inherited has to be Diana’s sapphire engagement ring. Created by British jeweler Garrard, it features a 12-carat oval Ceylon surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds. “I hope I will take care of it. It’s very, very special,” Kate said in engagement with Prince William.
Meghan’s engagement The ring also has a special connection with Diana. Designed by Prince Harry himself, it features two diamonds from his mother’s personal collection in addition to one from Botswana. “Without being able to see his mother, it was important to me to know she was part of this for us,” Meghan has said.
Diana’s Butterfly Earrings are another set of everyday earrings inherited by Meghan which she wore for the first time in Australia.
Called the Cambridge Lover’s Knot, the Lover’s Knot tiara was originally created for Queen Mary in 1913 and passed on to Queen Elizabeth in 1953 and Princess Diana in 1981. After her marriage to the Prince William, Kate received this tiara which she wore for the first time at the annual diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace in 2013.
Princess Diana is often seen wearing an emerald emerald ring because blue is said to be her favorite color. It was inherited by Meghan, who wore it at her wedding reception in 2018.
One of the most elegant yet sophisticated pieces in her jewelry collection, Princess Diana has worn a three-strand pearl bracelet several times. It was passed on to the Duchess of Cambridge.

Not only with jewelry, Kate and Meghan time and again nod to Princess Diana with their outfits. Kate recently donned a brown and white polka dot dress by Alessandra Rich at Royal Ascot 2022, reminiscent of the almost similar look her mother-in-law Princess Diana wore 34 years ago, at Royal Ascot last year. 1988.
For her final royal engagement, Meghan wore a green dress very similar to the one worn by Diana in 1982.
