The pole star 3 And EX90 both are now expected to go into production in the first half of 2024. Both were originally planned to go into production in the fourth quarter of this year.
“At this stage, we are uncertain about the timing implications for Australian Polestar 3 customers, but we are working to define a revised timeline with our colleagues in Sweden and will provide updates to our customers as soon as possible,” said a Polestar Australian spokesperson.
A spokesperson for Volvo Car Australia echoed similar comments, saying it was “too early to say” how this production delay would affect Australian EX90 customers.
Polestar 3 is revealed for the first time in October 2022 and the Polestar Australia website now says deliveries are estimated to begin in the second quarter of 2024.
The company had previously said deliveries would begin in the first quarter of 2024.
It’s worth noting that the production delay didn’t affect the recent reveal pole star 4 electric crossover, which is confirmed to launch in markets outside of China in early 2024.
On the other hand, the Volvo EX90 is revealed for the first time in November 2022 and is now expected to arrive Down Under by the end of 2024 according to Volvo Car Australia’s website.
Volvo had previously confirmed deliveries would begin in the third quarter of 2024.
It is unclear if there will be additional delays for both models.
EQUAL previous reportVolvo Car Australia’s public relations director Greg Bosnich said auto expert Earlier this year, customers were lining up to name an EX90 even without local pricing and specs.
“We already have some orders [deposits] Satisfied. Even without any specs or pricing – it’s already in the double digits,” Mr. Bosnich said.
Volvo will follow a similar format to the all-electric car launch Top up XC40 to take customer orders with both retailers and online portals offering the opportunity to order.
“I think the retailer will always have an element to it, but it’s the same with our other electric vehicles. We are going online and the idea is that Volvo wants to have a direct relationship with the consumer,” said Mr. Bosnich.
“We did it with XC40 Recharge, we did it with Recharge C40 and we will follow that format with the new and exciting EX90.”
