Punjab Assembly Election, Navjot Sidhu: Loaded with Possibilities
Chandigarh:
Punjab Parliament leader and former Indian track and field athlete, Navjot Sidhu, immediately waved goodbye on Wednesday after tweeting a picture of him with cricketer Harbhajan Singh months before the polls .
The photo’s caption (confusing) just said: “Image contains many possibilities…with bhajji, bright Star “.

The tweet comes amid speculation last week that the legendary Indian cameraman (and another Indian cricket star – Yuvraj Singh) could join the BJP ahead of the 2022 National Assembly elections in Punjab due to Parliament rules.
However, Harbhajan Singh was quick to quash such rumors; a tweet the company called it “fake news”.

Buzz about the cameraman’s political career has gone viral since the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
He also later ruled out following Navjot Sidhu in swapping high-priced whites for political rallies. He said: “Yes too many seasoned people in politics. So I have no plans. “
That was after it was reported that the BJP contacted the 41-year-old woman about removing him from the Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency, which was a Parliament stronghold that had been won, formerly, by the former Ministry. Chief Amarinder Singh and Navjot Sidhu (then however, with the BJP).
For Congress or the BJP to land Harbhajan would be a big impetus ahead of the election.
The BJP is eager to take advantage of the recent turmoil in Parliament – which many have traced back to Navjot Sidhu and his feud with former Minister Amarinder Singh – and take back Punjab.
Registering Harbhajan would be a huge step forward for a party that won only three of the 117 seats in 2017 after winning the 2012 elections with then-allied Akali Dal.
Harbhajan will also join Lok Sabha MP Gautam Gambhir as the recent Indian cricketer in the BJP.
Congress is determined to maintain control of the state – one of the very few that is fully regulated – and being able to bring in Harbhajan, who has played three games for India against Sidhu, would be a big thing.
Victory will also be crucial to deflect future attacks from Bengali Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has challenged Parliament’s primacy as the de facto opposition leader in the effort. campaign for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha Election.
Navjot Sidhu this week was made Chairman of the Parliamentary Elections panel for Punjab; The key committee that will make all the decisions regarding the election, also includes Chief Minister Charanjit Channi and former Punjab Chief of Parliament Sunil Jakhar.
