Read CEO Parag Agrawal’s first email to Twitter employees

Love where you work, India-born Parag Agrawal wrote in his first email to Twitter employees after taking over as the new CEO of Twitter Inc.
Agrawal, 37, was named on Monday to succeed co-founder Jack Dorsey after four years as CTO, a role where he oversaw the company’s pursuit of blockchain and other decentralized technologies. Twitter.
“Our purpose has never been more important. Our people and culture are like nothing else in the world. There’s no limit to what we can do together. Recently, we’ve updated the strategy to achieve our ambitious goals, and I believe it will be bold and right, but the key challenge is how we work to execute it and deliver results – that’s how we make Twitter the best we can be for our customers, shareholders and for each of you I want you to #LoveWhereYouWork and love the way we work together to have an impact too. as big as possible,” he wrote to employees.
Agrawal, now the youngest CEO in the S&P 500, recounted how he joined the company a decade ago, when it had just 1,000 employees, and expressed gratitude to Jack Dorsey for his mentorship and his friendship. Mr. Dorsey stepped down as CEO on Monday.

“Thank you Jack. I am honored and humbled. And I am grateful for your continued mentorship and friendship,” the new CEO wrote.
“I joined this company 10 years ago when it had less than 1,000 employees. Meanwhile, a decade ago, those days seemed to me like yesterday… I see the incredible impact. of Twitter, our continued progress and exciting opportunities ahead,” he said.
Mr. Agrawal is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai, where he studied for a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science. He moved to the United States for further study, with a PhD from California-based Stanford University.
“The world is watching us right now, even more than they have before. Many people will have different views and opinions on today’s news. That’s because they are. cares about Twitter and the future, and that’s a sign of what we’re doing here old school. Let’s show Twitter’s full potential in the world,” he added.
He briefly worked at Microsoft, AT&T, and Yahoo before joining Twitter in 2011. At all three companies, his work was primarily research-oriented. Initially, at Twitter, he worked on products related to advertising, but gradually he also started to research artificial intelligence.
Twitter was created by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone and Evan Williams in March 2006 and launched in July of that year.
