Black is back.
Renault once again offering Black Version of Koleos for 2022, with only 400 arriving in Australia.
It costs $42,000 driving.
Based on the mid-range Zen, the Black Edition features unique 19-inch alloy wheels – finished in dark gray rather than black – along with gloss black roof rails and door mirrors.
Other exterior tweaks include side steps, a ‘Limit’ badge and a French flag on the B-pillar. The only exterior colors are Black, Gray or White.
Inside, there are black faux leather seats with yellow stitching, matte carbon trim and ‘Limited’ badging on the chrome door sills.
The Black Edition also includes a hands-free power tailgate and an 8.7-inch vertical touchscreen.
For 2022, these features are also available in the new Zen Easy Life Plan for $2000.
The Koleos has enjoyed skyrocketing popularity in the first two months of 2022, with Renault selling 818 units to date. For context, the company sold 1937 models of the overall Koleos in 2021.

In addition to the 5-year unlimited kilometer warranty, Renault also offers 5 years of limited-price service. Each service is capped at $429 except for the 120,000 km service which costs $999.
Safety
When ANCAP tested the Koleos in 2017, it gave it a five-star rating.
That ranking is based on an adult protection score of 84%, a child protection score of 79%, a vulnerable pedestrian protection score of 62% and a safety assist score of 52%.

Color
The Koleos product line comes in only four colors: Millesim Red, Universal White, Metallic Gray and Metallic Black. Unusually, red is a free option, while monochrome shades cost an extra $800.
There is no charge for these colors in the Black Edition, although Millesim Red is not available.
