After spending 2023 with the NC Dinos in the KBO, 30-year-old right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde has agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with the Chicago White Sox, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.
Fedde, a six-year MLB veteran, dominated in Korea’s top baseball league, posting a 2.00 ERA over 180.1 innings. He also struck out 209 hitters while walking just 35.
He spent his entire big league career with the Washington Nationals logging 454.1 innings from 2017 to 2022 with a 5.41 ERA.
A first-round pick of Washington in 2014, Fedde was non-tendered by Washington last off-season and chose to head to Korea rather than sign an MLB deal that didn’t guarantee him a spot in the majors.
While playing with the Dinos, he adjusted his pitch mix, adopting a sweeper and reducing how much he threw his sinker, he told Jesse Doughtery last September.
