Report: Seahawks QB Geno Smith expected to start vs. Titans
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith will be back for the team’s Week 16 matchup against the Tennessee Titans after not carrying a designation in the team’s final injury report on Friday.
Smith was a full participant in practice this week after missing the past two games with a groin injury and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports he is expected to start on Sunday.
The 33-year-old was close to starting against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night but Seattle went with backup Drew Lock instead.
Lock led the team for a late touchdown to help them beat the Eagles 20-17 and end a four-game losing streak.
Jamal Adams will not be available while Kenneth Walker and Devon Witherspoon are questionable.
In 12 games this season, Smith has thrown for 2,918 yards 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions in his second season with Seattle.
The Seahawks sit on the bubble in the playoff race in the NFC and improve their chances to qualify to 65 per cent if they beat Tennessee, but a loss will drop their odds to 28 per cent.
