Cosynd, a copyright protection service, has announced the promotion of Rhea Ghosh to the newly created Chief Marketing Officer position.
Ghosh will lead all consumer brand marketing and communication initiatives for Cosynd, working with thousands of creators and copyright holders from more than 120 countries.
She will also be responsible for delivering Cosynd’s advocacy initiatives with her partner network, including Baby CD, A2IM (Independent Music Association of America), MLC, Reposted by sound cloud, Symphony Distribution, BookBaby, DiscMakers, AdRev, Soundrop and BeatStars among others. Ghosh joined Cosynd in 2020 to strengthen the company’s marketing strategy.
Ghosh brings a decade of experience working with entrepreneurs, brands and creators.
Prior to Cosynd, Ghosh served as the Director of Global Marketing at City Center Music Publishing Housewhere she oversaw the company’s marketing and communications strategy across all of the company’s international offices.
There, according to the announcement, “she created new opportunities for clients and the company’s repertoire, including the likes of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Miles Davis, Ryan Tedder, John Prine, JioSaavnAO’s catalog, and Grammy Award winner Farm co-author Anthony Rossomando, among others”.
Additionally, she leads marketing and partnerships for NY is Music, an alliance that promotes the importance of music in economic development, culture, and education in New York.
Through her work with NY is Music, Ghosh helped form and launch New York Music Month, an annual festival celebrating the impact of music on New York, as well as Sound Thinking NYC, a program is designed to introduce young women to careers in music production, sound technology, and recording — both in partnership with the Mayor’s NYC Office of Media and Entertainment.
More recently, Ghosh was welcomed into the Recording Academy’s 2022 Professional Membership.
