Via Charles Brun: New Anthony Joshua coach Robert Garcia overturned the former unified heavyweight champion’s powers this week after being hired as a replacement coach ahead of a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in July or August.
Garcia has been brought in to try and put Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) back together again in lifesaving work to retrofit the fading 32-year-old, who has lost two out of four his most recent match.
Robert took a break from work so he could try to improve Joshua in the rush to make him undefeated IBF, WBA & WBO championship belts Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) this summer in Jeddah, Saudi Saudi Arabia.
If Robert fails in his mission, it is predictable that he will soon be replaced by a new coach, who is also assigned Impossible task of rebuilding someone that cannot be rebuilt.
Robert is on his honeymoon as the new coach for Joshua, but if he loses to Usyk again, we could see a split.
While it’s great that Robert is talking about Joshua’s strength, he needs to understand that AJ’s problems have led him to this point in regards to Poor stamina and resistance to punches.
No one has ever complained about Joshua’s strength as a hole in his game. His chin and conditioning problems have put his career on the verge of collapse, not his power.
Joshua is said to be equivalent to a ‘total’ car. It may be the only way to save his career is for his promoter Eddie Hearn to revert to the kind of matchmaking he did earlier in his career from 2013 to 2017. .

“It was a dream come true. Those are the challenges that I like. Now, Anthony Joshua is that challenge. He lost. I wouldn’t say he beat because he didn’t hit.
“He lost a decision, but obviously he lost and now bring him back to pull off the ring. It will be huge for me as a coach. Plus, having a heavyweight champion of the world, you can’t get better than that.
“But overall talent, if you’re talking about talent, I pick Anthony Joshua. Another thing that Anthony Joshua has is insane strength. God, he has great strengththan anyone else, I think.
“Wilder, from what I’ve seen, defeats the fool, Wilder is also one of those one punchers. Anthony Joshua has it too. He’s very, very healthy.
“I’ve won almost every weight class, but having the heavyweight champion of the world, that’s special. I could have a hundred world champions, but if I don’t have a strong contender, something is missing,” Robert said.
