Robert Garcia says Gervonta Davis can be defeated by Ryan Garcia
Via Craig Daly: Coach Robert Garcia says that Gervonta’ Tank Davis could be in trouble if he starts slow against Ryan Garcia as usual.
Robert says that Tank’s habit of starting slow in teamfights will result in Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) nailing him with a fast check hook he can’t see.
The fight is “50-50” in Robert’s eyes, but he feels Ryan will achieve something big at some point that could hurt Tank.
Tank (28-0.26 KOs) has never faced a puncher like Ryan, 24 years old before and can explode after being caught in the middle of a fight at number one.
If Ryan clearly catches Tank with one of his left hooks, he may be too badly injured to recover in time before the competition pauses.
“It’s a 50-50 fight and you can’t pick a winner because anything can happen,” Robert Garcia told fight TV center about the fight between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis.
“Everybody was looking at the performance from the last battle. If I see Tank come into the ring with the same attitude, the same mentality, the same distraction in his fight with Ryan, and he’ll be easy the first few rounds and Let him get out of a few rounds, he’s in trouble. He’s in trouble with Ryan.
Robert Garcia continued: “He couldn’t do that to Ryan. “I think Ryan is too fast, too strong and he will be in trouble. Like I said, people always go for the last performance. So if he fights and gives rounds like he did [Hector Luis] Garcia, I think he’s in trouble.
“I really believe Ryan will catch him. He will catch him, especially with him [Gervonta] is a left-handed person and walks in with his jab or straight left. He’s going to have to reach in because Ryan is taller and the check hook Ryan has is so fast that people don’t even see it.
“Tank is also very smart, very technical in the ring, where he is patient when it can be reversed or vice versa. One punch from the Tank can end the battle. We’ve all seen Ryan dumped and that’s going to be the question, too.
“How much can Ryan get from Tank? I think the fight will end in a knockout, either way. Ryan can take down Tank just as easily as Tank takes out Ryan. It was a good fight.
“I just hope it happens. There are always injuries and things that happen in training camp that people don’t know and don’t see. I hope this fight happens because it will be a really good fight.
“I hope we don’t see Ryan get rusty because he hasn’t fought yet. That is the only question. Tank comes out clean. I’m sure he didn’t have any wounds in the fight. He was not hit so hard that he was dizzy or in pain. So he’s fresh.
“Hopefully he doesn’t hurt his hand. In the end, it was Tank who took the opportunity to fight and took out that rusty ring. Robert Garcia said.
