Via Jim Calfa: Rolando Romero reports that he has been cleared of the charge he was charged with in the now-ending investigation.
Unbeatable lightweight champion Rolando, who now calls himself ‘The Boxer officially known as kt Rolly’, is still saddened to have to go through this arduous process.
Before these allegations surfaced, Romero, 25, was planning to challenge ‘regular’ WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in the main event on Showtime PPV on Dec. Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Romero was soon carded and replaced by Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, who put on an impressive performance in a conceding goal.
We’ll never know what Rolando will do against the Davis Tank (27-0.24 KOs) that night. It will be very interesting to see.
Romero says he will buy his mother a house with the money he plans to get for the war with the Tank.
It is unclear how much money Rolando lost after the card was withdrawn. In the main event of a skirmish with PPV, it must have been a big payday that Romero missed.
Now that Rolando is cleared, we’ll see if Mayweather Promotions reschedules the Tank Davis bout for the first quarter of 2022.
Rolando’s best chance for a big payday is Mayweather Promotions bringing him in to play with Gervonta, but it’s unclear if that’s the best option for him right now.
Given Tank Davis’ poor performance against Pitbull Cruz, Mayweather Promotions may be thinking about arranging a rematch. Pitbull was without a rival after his fight with Ryan Garcia failed to materialize.
Rolando is unlikely to be awarded the belt in a bout against undisputed lightweight champion George Kambosos unless Mayweather Promotions throws a crazy amount of money at the Australian boxer.
They probably won’t because they won’t sell a war between Kambosos and Rolando.
It’s not that Romero won’t be doing his part to garner plenty of interest from US heavyweight boxing fans, but others probably won’t be thrilled to see Rolando fight the lesser Kambosos. known.
