Virat Kohli has decided to step down as captain of the franchise after IPL 2021 ends. RCB will also be without famous South African smasher AB de Villiers from next season, as he announced his retirement from cricket a few days ago.
Kohli is the highest performing man in the history of the franchise and the IPL and he is expected to play a big role in the future, but not the captain. Glenn Maxwell was the star performer for RCB at IPL 2021, as he placed 5th on the running leaderboard for the season, with 513 runs. His ability to spin and strike efficiently means that RCB appreciates him and may not want to take the risk of picking him up again in the auction.
