Coach Ken McPeek was forced to scratch his morning favorite Tiz the Bomb (Hit It a Bomb) from GII Kentucky Jockey Club S. on Saturday, but he scored his third win in the event — and fourth win on Churchill’s Stars of Tomorrow card – thanks ‘Rising star TDN‘HAPPY SMILE (v, 3, Runhappy–Pleasant Smile, by Pleasant Tap). The winner of a 5 1/2-long debut from two-way speed at Keeneland on October 29, black bay walked away 9-2 and stalked from the midfield into the clear outdoors. He advanced with a four-way wide bid home, and found another device in the middle of the spin to pull away a number about three lengths in 1:43.94. The classic favorite (Giant’s Causeway) comes in second, with Florida invaders White Abbario (Race Day) rounding the triangle. Sales history: $175,000 wnlg ’19 KEENOV; 185,000 USD in 20 FTKSEL.
