S Jaishankar At the Meeting of the Four Foreign Ministers

Minister of Foreign Affairs S Jaishankar on Friday said the 4th Foreign Ministers Meeting of the Four Countries is an opportunity to review the progress that has been made since a vision was laid out at the Summit of the United Nations. Four leaders last September.
Mr Jaishankar made these remarks in the presence of Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“In September, you (the Prime Minister of Australia), our Prime Minister (Joe Biden), the President Biden, the Prime Minister of Japan, together gave us guidance, laid out a vision for the Quad. I want to. assuring you that we all have. I think today’s meeting gives us an opportunity to review how we have progressed towards the vision that has been set forth,” said Mr. Jaishankar at the Conference. 4th Foreign Minister in Melbourne, Australia.
“Part of the reason why I think the Quad has done so well is because our bilateral relationship is so strong. Certainly, I expect the progress in our bilateral relationship to be there as well. Quad,” he added.
In his opening remarks, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said we live in a very fragile, divided and contested world, which could not be more exhausted than in the Indo-Pacific.
“I’m reassured by our position, I’m reassured by our shared understanding. I’m reassured by the incredibly strong support Australia has received from our Quad partners. And I’m not just want to talk about the security context but also economic partnership and cooperation.I mean in humanitarian partnership and how each person opposes a world order that represents freedom and special is in the free and open Indo-Pacific,” he added.
Mr Morrison added that Australia also shared a vision of a stronger economy, not just regional stability or security.
The Quadrangle Security Dialogue is a partnership of four countries, each of which share a common commitment to openness, transparency, and challenges to the current global order.
This is the first time the Four Foreign Ministers have met since the two Quad Summits last year. They will discuss the ongoing Quad cooperation in their bilateral phone calls and meetings.
