Officials at Santa Anita Park have made the proactive decision to cancel the show scheduled for this Thursday, December 30, given the weather forecast indicating significant additional rainfall during and around the track. The two turf races scheduled for Sunday’s opening day card – GI American Oaks and GII Santa Anita Mathis Brothers Mile S. and GIII San Gabriel S. – have been moved to the main track due to underfoot conditions . The race will resume on Friday, December 31.
Three field games scheduled for Friday were postponed to the weekend with more favorable weather than expected. GIII Robert J. Frankel S. will now be running on Saturday, January 1, while Eddie Logan S. and Blue Norther S., for 2-year-old boys and infants, will run on Sunday, January 2.
Saturday’s card also featured GII Joe Hernandez S., GIII Sham S. and GIII La Canada S. In addition to the transferable minor deposit, Sunday’s program also included Kalookan Queen S.
