Sarah Michelle Gellar reunites with stars with cruel intentions
Back in 1999, SMG and Selma Blair’s on-screen kiss was a big deal. And it won Best Kiss at the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, with the co-stars recreating the kiss on stage.

When actually filming it, Gellar once said, “Selma was afraid she would kiss me. But she didn’t!”
Blair (actually 27, playing 15-year-old freshman Cecile) admitted to having some anxiety at first, but revealed Gellar also had some worries, saying, “Aside from kissing my sister many years ago years in a game of truth or dare, I’ve never kissed a girl so much that I had to kiss Sarah We filmed our kiss scene on the last day of shooting and, it felt really great On the way from LA to NYC to shoot the Central Park scene, I said to Sarah, ‘Tomorrow we’ll clear it up!’ She was like, “Shh. Do not tell.”
For Gellar, the kiss, performed in Central Park with hundreds of bystanders and photographers around, ended up making tabloid headlines the following week. “[We] saw headlines like ‘Sarah spends a day in Central Park with a friend’, “Blair remembered. “I guess they all had their telescopes ready that day.”
