Pakistan’s fast pitcher Shaheen Shah Afridi has personally apologized to Bangladesh hitter Afif Hossain after aiming a pitch at him during the second T20I match between the two sides at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday. The incident took place in the third round of Bangaldesh. In serve after Hossain hit him six times, Afridi lost his cool, picked up the ball in his run and threw it at the stump while the batter was in the fold.

However, Shaheen was fined 15% of the competition fee for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The players were found to have violated Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Officers, which involved “throwing the ball (or any other item of cricket equipment such as a bottle) water) on or near a Player, Player Support Staff, Head of Team, Match Referee or any other third person in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an International Match.”
Additionally, a point of reproach was added to the disciplinary record of Afridi, who was the first offense in a 24-month period.
Afridi admitted the offence and accepted the penalty recommended by Neeyamur Rashid of the Emirates ICC International Match Arbitration Committee and approved by the ICC Cricket Executive in accordance with the COVID-19 provisional competition rules. . A formal hearing is not required.
On-field referees Gazi Sohel and Sohail Tanveer, third referee Masudur Rahman and fourth referee Sharfudoulla Ibne Shahid leveled the charges.

Level 1 violations will result in a minimum of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50% of the player’s match fee, and one or two bonus points.
Meanwhile, Pakistan leads 2-0 in a three-match series, after their eighth win in the second T20I match in Dhaka. The third and final T20I will be played on Monday at the same venue.
