The tweet comes just a day after the Election Commission announced polling dates for five states as Congress tries to restore its fortunes after a number of electoral defeats over the past few years.
In Punjab, Congress is trying to stay in power while in Uttar Pradesh it is trying to put up a tough fight for the ruling BJP. In Manipur, it emerged as the largest party in 2017. But then lost its place to the BJP after a series of resignations.
Goa and Uttarakhand are the other states where it is doing its best to hold its ground and become the main challenger.
Meanwhile, Mr Tharoor, 65, – a man of many words – used Twitter to criticize the rival party with new, occasional words.
Last month, he used the word “Allodoxaphobia”. “Word of the day, actually for the last seven years: *Allodoxaphobia*. Meaning: irrational fear of opinions. Usage:” BJP government in UP sedated cases of sedation & UAPA on people because of their leadership suffer from allodoxaphobia. “
He is referring to the Yogi Adityanath government and the cases of seduction in Uttar Pradesh against its critics.
