Shilpa Shetty celebrates Makar Sankranti and Pongal with this dessert
The harvest festival of Makar Sankranti, also known as Uttarayan in some parts of the country, would not be complete without tilkut and ladoo made with sesame seeds. During the festival, people make sweets using jaggery and jaggery to share them with family and friends. That’s what even Shilpa Shetty did. The actress has made it a tradition to wish her followers during most festivals. As for Sankranti, she shared a video on Instagram where she was seen greeting her followers with a plate full of ka ladoo. “May the harvest festival reap you all the love, blessings and happiness you deserve. Congratulations Makar Sankranti and Happy Pongal to everyone,” Shilpa captioned the post.

The video shows Shilpa carrying a plate full of tilapia. In northern India, people celebrate Makar Sankranti, and in the south, especially in Tamil Nadu, they mark Pongal.

Once, at Christmas, Shilpa Shetty shared her favorite recipes on Instagram. She says baked kalkals and healthy fruit tarts are her two favorites to prepare around Christmas. She says the grilled kalkals make her remember forever, and takes her back to her grandmother’s house, where they will be surrounded by Goan neighbors.
