Shares of shutter up 8% on Tuesday after the company announced extended six-year partnership with OpenAI, maker of ChatGPT.
Shutterstock, which provides stock photos, videos and music, said in a liberate, release, free that it will provide OpenAI with “high-quality” training data by granting access to its video, image, and music libraries. Shutterstock will continue to leverage OpenAI’s text-to-image capabilities and allow customers to use “composite editing capabilities” to alter any image in the Shutterstock library.
The companies will also work to bring AI to mobile users through Shutterstock’s Giphy GIF database. Shutterstock agreed buy Giphy from meta in the May.
Shutterstock begins strategic cooperation with OpenAI in 2021. In October 2022, the company announced it would begin offering OpenAI’s image generation capabilities to its customers.
