Actress Sienna Miller has claimed The Sun tried to “profit off her suffering” and “cruelly deprive her of options” by revealing she was pregnant.
It comes as the star said she feels “completely vindicated” after settling a claim for “substantial damages” against the newspaper’s publishers.
She sued the newspaper’s publisher, News Group Newspaper (NGN), who denied any illegal information gathering took place at The Sun and agreed to settle her case for “the substantial damages” without incurring any liability.
She brought legal action over allegations of voicemail interception and misuse of personal information in September 2019.
Miller ‘terrified’ by leaked documents
The star’s lawyer, David Sherborne, told the Supreme Court that leaked documents showed a senior Sun journalist “met with a ‘medical record follower’ in July and August of 2005 to discuss Miss Miller’s pregnancy”.
He added that expenses were also reported by the journalist.
Mr Sherborne said the disclosures also included “private investigator bills to The Sun and records of payments by The Sun contributors to alleged private investigators”.
He added: “Miss Miller has been the subject of serious media scrutiny and intrusion into her private life since around 2003 which has affected not only her but also most of her friends and family. she.
“In particular, The Sun has published many malicious stories about her containing intimate private details about her relationships and feelings and even her confidential medical information. .”

Mr Sherborne said Miller “believes it was Rebekah Brooks, then editor of The Sun, who first called the claimant’s representative to say she knew that the claimant was carrying pregnant”.
Former News of the World editor, Ms. Brooks, who was cleared of all charges in a phone hacking trial in 2014, has denied engaging in illegal activity.
Mr Sherborne said Miller accused Ms Brooks and others of being “responsible for leaking the pregnancy and their actions, including the phone call, made it impossible for her to trust those closest to her when she was close to her. really need them.”

“This is how our world is. Until someone can confront the Murdochs’ multitude of vehicles, all I have left are these words. And they are true.”
She added: “I hope that others can pick up where we left off, that someone can go further than I can.
“I would not hesitate to participate as a witness in anyone’s attempt to challenge those responsible at a trial.”
