Silent Hill: Amidst reboot rumors, Konami renews trademark
Konami has innovated Silent Hill brand amid ongoing rumors that a reboot is underway.
According to the report of Chronicles of video games, Reddit user LongJonSiIlver Look out for the updated branding that comes with the renewals for Frogger, Gradius, The Water Margin, and Tokimeki Memorial.
The Silent Hill brand includes games, virtual reality headsets, and a number of other goods and services, although this is not particularly unusual as Konami still sells a wide variety of Silent Hill merchandise.
Reports surfaced throughout 2021 that Konami is working on the new Silent Hill as VGC reports again that it is planning reimagined versions of some of its most popular franchises.
More reports says that other Silent Hill games are in development but Konami has not made any official word on whether this is true or not.
The franchise has been dormant since 2012 apart from a very brief appearance in 2014 PT Konami released a playable trailer to showcase a new game called Silent Hills, which is intended to directed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, but it was canceled and taken off sale a few months later.
There are eight main games in the Silent Hill series, starting with the 1999 original (which IGN said it was amazing) and ending 2012’s Silent Hill: Downpour (which IGN says it’s bad).
While Konami has renewed its branding for Silent Hill, it has not been so successful in other areas, as in February someone seems to have bought SilentHill.com just to troll the publisher.
Webpage now shows a single real tweet from Silent Hill 2 and 3 art director Masahiro Ito, who says he regrets designing the iconic villain of the Pyramid Head series.
