Thursday’s G1 Grand Prix de Paris at ParisLongchamp drew a tight playing field of six, with the addition of Flaxman Stables’ Piz Badile (Ire) (Ulysses {Ire}) brings the Irish Derby G1 format to the fore to demonstrate one of the key pivot points for Circuits and Distances. His G2 Prix Hocquart-winning relative L’Astronomical (GB) (Frankel {GB}) was in the lineup of Al Asayl France and Francis-Henri Graffard, while the June 15 winner G2 Queen’s Vase of KHK Racing Eldar Eldarov (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Nas Syndicate and O’Callaghans’ G1 Prix du Jockey-Club runner-up El Bodegon (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) made up the British army. ‘Rising star TDN’ Onesto (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) and Haras De La Perelle and Stephane Wattel’s G3 Prix du Lys scorer Simca Mille (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}) completes the queue in a horror movie for Fete Nationale Francaise.
