Sixth Annual PDJF Telethon Breaks Record With More Than $430K Raised
Last Sunday, April 21, the sixth annual PDJF Telethon broke the previous record as the Permanent Disability Fund raised more than $430,000, FanDuel TV said in a release Wednesday.
Presented by Lane's End Farm, the telethon aired for the third consecutive year on FanDuel TV and FOX Sports' America's Day at the Races.
The event, which brings together Hall of Fame drivers, FanDuel TV talent and other prominent racing personalities to man the phone lines, has grown each year since its inception in 2018.
“PDJF is very appreciative of all the support from the more than 1,000 donations received during the Telethon broadcast,” said Nancy LaSala, PDJF President. “Without this support and the hard work of everyone involved this would not have been possible. A special thank you to FanDuel and Lane's End for their continued support of the PDJF mission. ”
There were donations from supporters across the country, including major gifts from Heider Family Stables, John Stewart, Kentucky Downs, Patricia's Hope, Bobby Flay, Debbie Finley and Janie Buss. Additionally, FanDuel and Lane's End each donated $100,000.
