Someone Built an NES That Can Kill You
Some classic game enthusiasts are too preoccupied with what they maybe construction, they won’t stop to ask questions if they should. One such sinister manufacturer combined his love of classic consoles with expertise in 3D printing and robotics to craft the NESdestroyer: a repurposed NES gaming case with a robot. The combat is equipped with a fully portable circular saw inside. It’s an interesting work of vandalism.
Have built great creations like The fastest roomba in the world And an underwater drone With a first-person camera controlled via head-tracking, Australian manufacturer Electrosync’s latest creation is likely to spark fear among Sega Master System owners. Featuring a dangerous blade capable of easily cutting through meat, watermelon, and beer cans, Electrosync’s NESdestroyer is a death machine you can’t help but love. Watch this beauty from start to finish through his YouTube channel:
Inspired by his love of the great sport of competitive fighting robots, Electrosync saw fit to do what might have worried many classic gamers: dice and reuse System shells Realistic Nintendo entertainment to make battle armor-ready robots. Its high-speed blade inspires fear, but it’s also cute, especially in this video from Electrosync’s Instagram featuring an exquisite acoustic guitar played on motorized carnage.
Isn’t it adorable?
Built for the “exhibition match” in the BattleBots weight class of the TV show (for a robot that weighs 3 pounds, or 1.36 kg), the entire original guts of the NES console had to make room for its conversion into a fighting machine. Realistic robot parts are made from repurposed parts, including a pulley from a 3D printer and an Electrosync motor salvaged from a drone he crashed .
Once built and ready for battle, Electrosync built its creation on a watermelon, a fake NES game, and a can of Australian beer (Victoria Bitter). While the plastic of the NES box proved to be an unstoppable enemy (causing the blade’s motor to jam), the NESdestroyer handled beer and watermelon in a quick, messy, and bloody manner.
Electrosync has also revealed that there will be more to come. Describing fruit and beer as merely “training,” he ends his video by saying that the NES Terminator’s next challenge will be the Nintendo Entertainment System’s nemesis: Sega Master System. This will be a war for the ages.
