Sony Music Group (SMG) has opened its headquarters in Southeast Asia, with headquarters in Singapore.
SMG says that the opening of the headquarters “intensifies investment and reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the region”.
The new office will house the headquarters of SMG companies including Sony Music Entertainment (SMEs), Sony Music Publishing (SMP) and artist and trademark service company Fruit gardenas well as serve as a new base for Sony Interactive entertainment, the creators of PlayStation.
SMG says its new headquarters will feature experts in regional marketing, data analytics, human resources, finance, digital innovation, business development, A&R and publicity, focus on Singapore and the wider region.
The company also said that setting up the regional hub in Singapore would allow it to “take advantage of the talent pool and tech ecosystem” in Singapore.
At the official opening ceremony, Singaporean superstar Sezairi, who just broke records in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, with the hit song II’m youalong with Singapore superstars Linying and Benjamin Khen, sang their hits in a pre-recorded performance for an audience that included government representatives, Southeast Asian entertainment dignitaries and the board. leader of SMG.
