South Africa report Recording daily number of COVID-19 infections with 26,976 cases
Johannesburg:
South Africa reported a record number of daily COVID-19 cases on Wednesday in a fourth wave of infections believed to be caused by the Omicron coronavirus variant.
The National Institute of Infectious Diseases reported 26,976 new infections, surpassing the peak of 26,485 new cases in early July in the third wave driven by the Delta variant.
