A South Carolina woman has been sentenced to 38 years in prison for stabbing two of her neighbors to death.
According to the prosecutor Paulette Sims, 31, was still stabbing and sticking her finger in the wound of one of her victims when police arrived and recorded it on body camera footage. WYFF Report The horrific crime that took place in Allendale in March 2020.
The jury found Sims guilty of murder on Thrusday (October 14).
The 14th Law Office says the attack began when a roommate of the victim saw Sims lying on the sidewalk and suggested she go back to her apartment. Sims returned to his apartment with a knife and lunged at the man.
Carolyn Cook, 44 and Bobby Heath Jr.The 57-year-old was trying to protect their friend before Heath was stabbed once in the heart while Cook was stabbed multiple times, investigators said.
The final blows of the attack were still going on as the police arrived and caught them on the dashboard and body cameras.
“Multiple Sclerosis. Sims attacked two neighbors without provocation and continued to assault one of her victims after she was likely dead,” prosecutors said. Julie Kate Keeney said, according to WYFF. “This attack is so brazen and barbaric, it’s hard to believe it would have taken place if some of it hadn’t been captured on video.”
