South Korea rolls out new howitzers and tanks for Poland
Korean defense companies Hanwha Defense and Hyundai Rotem have introduced the new K9 Thunder self-propelled tank and K2 Black Panther main battle tank to Poland.
An initial batch of 24 K9 tanks and 10 K2 Black Panther tanks was launched on October 19 to be sent to Poland as part of the first operating contract signed in mid-August.
During the event at Hanwha Defense Factory 1 in Changwon, all 24 K9PL vehicles were lined up on site, while K9PL led the parade of advanced combat vehicles built by Hanwha Defense, including including K10 Ammunition Supply Vehicle; K77 Fire Direction Center Vehicle; K21 infantry fighting vehicle; Korean amphibious assault vehicle; and Arion-SMET Unmanned Ground Vehicle. On these ground vehicles, Hanwha’s guided missiles and aerospace engines were displayed, demonstrating the company’s diverse defense capabilities through the merger of defense and aviation branches. the upcoming Hanwha Group universe.

Hyundai Rotem held an official ceremony at its factory in Changwon, about 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul. The remaining 170 tanks will be delivered within the next three years.

Poland intends to buy 672 K9 tanks and 1,000 K2 battle tanks developed by Korean companies.
