Southern Chiefs sign deal with province to create First Nation health authority – Winnipeg
Manitoba’s organization of Southern Chiefs has signed an agreement with the province to create a First Nation health agency in the South that will launch later this year.
Grand Chief Jerry Daniels said the deal will apply to 34 member bands.

An agreement in principle would establish relationships and priorities for First Nations and formalize the commitment of the leading states as well as the federal and provincial governments to work together.
Sheriffs have said that culturally appropriate primary care, improved mental health services, enhanced aged care, traditional healing and local outreach will be key goals .
