Sputnik Light One-Shot vaccine approved for emergency use in India

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday.
Mr. Mandaviya said that the decision will further strengthen the country’s fight against the pandemic.
“DCGI has granted emergency use authorization for single dose Sputnik Light COVID-19 vaccine in India. This is the 9th #COVID19 vaccine in the country. This will further strengthen our collective fight. nation against the pandemic,” Mr Mandaviya said in a tweet.

On Saturday, the topic expert committee of the drug regulator recommended the use of a single-shot COVID-19 vaccine from Russia’s Sputnik Light, sources told the ANI news agency.
Sources say DCGI is expected to give final approval to Russia’s Sputnik Light soon.
Hyderabad-based Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is the Indian partner of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which has sought approval from the drug regulator for the single-dose Russian use of Sputnik Light. .
Recommendations are given as the main dose. Recently, the company submitted a proposal to conduct trials of Sputnik Light as an booster for other vaccines. Sputnik Light is the first ingredient in two doses of the Sputnik V vaccine.
