Suzuki Ignis begins to release Shadow version
Australian Suzuki introduced a new flagship version of its cheapest car, heralding the launch of personalized blacked out variants across the brand’s wider range.
The Suzuki Ignis Ball Technically, this is the second model to get the Black Gloss treatment, after the model Baleno ball Special edition designed to send the popular light hatchback in Australia.
Unlike Baleno Shadow, Ignite the Darkness is a permanent pattern. Customer deliveries are about to begin.
Suzuki Australia general manager Michael Pachota said the Ignis Shadow is the first model in the ever more diverse Shadow lineup. ONE fast ball And Ball Vitara will follow at a later date.
The Ignis Shadow is based on the top-end GLX variant and adds a black roof spoiler, black side decals, and Shadow badging. These features are all added locally.
Ignis Shadow in black is priced from $27,990 drive away$1500 more expensive than the GLX.
Strength still comes from one 1.2 liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine manufacture 66kW power and 120Nm of torque. This is sent to the front wheels exclusively through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Ignis Shadow is available with all exterior paint color options besides Super Black Pearl. Each color other than Pure White Pearl costs an additional $595.
This second-generation Ignis first arrived on Australian shores in late 2016 and received a mid-life update in 2020.
The ‘Series II’ update focuses on aesthetic changes to the Ignis and doesn’t bring any additional safety kit, nor does it bring with it the mild-hybrid powertrain offered in Europe. .
Now looking older than its rivals, the Ignis doesn’t offer automatic emergency braking (AEB) on any variant. So does its now-defunct brother Suzuki Baleno.
As previously reported, Suzuki has revealed the Baleno-based version fronx Small SUV confirmed to come to Australia. It is supposed to launch in early 2024.
At 3995mm long, the Fronx slots sit between the Ignis and Vitara, and will compete with rivals like Location Hyundai, Kia Stonic, Toyota Yaris Cross.
